In Arizona, there is a growing need for mental health services that align with the faith-based values of Catholic persons and families. The challenges faced by this community are significant and multifaceted. If left unaddressed, persons, families, and society, itself, will continue to fracture.

Mission

Catholic Therapists Arizona (CTA) is an association of Catholic mental health practitioners dedicated to providing integrated clinical training, promoting spiritual development, and facilitating a robust network of therapists to deepen community. We aim to support the integration of faith and professional practice for the benefit of both practitioners and those they serve.

Vision

We envision that the Holy Spirit’s transformative power will elevate Catholic mental health care across Arizona by providing services that are both clinically excellent and rooted in Catholic teachings, fostering holistic healing and the spiritual renewal needed in our communities to address evolving social realities of our time.

Core Programs

Training and Support: Providing specialized training for therapists in integrating Catholic teachings with evidence-based mental health practices.

Access and Outreach: Increasing access to Catholic therapists through outreach programs and partnerships with parishes.

Financial Assistance: Offering sliding scale fees and financial aid to ensure that cost is not a barrier to receiving care.

Catholic therapists do not simply work to reduce symptoms; they aid the Church in holistic healing that honors every part of the human person—mind, body, and soul.

As Catholics, we recognize the profound impact of relational wounds on persons, families, and communities. These wounds, stemming from fractured relationships, neglect, abuse, or trauma, affect spiritual, emotional, and psychological well-being. By integrating the healing power of our faith with psychological sciences, CTA is eager to play a supportive role for local parishes and the universal Church through the psychological restoration of the human person.
